Rosette Cake for Sophia's Ballet Recital

I've been wanting to do a cake like this for a while, and what better occasion than my little girl's first ballet recital! I love how it turned out. I just did a small layer cake and then regular-sized and miniature cupcakes. Cupcakes are easier at off-site parties, it seems. We had rented a small banquet room just across from the theater. The cake was lemon, filled with cheesecake mousse and frosted with vanilla buttercream. The cupcakes were vanilla and chocolate with the same frosting as the cake. I also made the Beautiful Ballerina banner, pictured below.

Here's my beautiful little ballerina posing for me after her show. She did great and had a lot of fun. I think she also had two cupcakes and a slice of cake. It was yummy!
