Ivory Snowflake Wedding Cake

This 4-tier wedding cake was for my cousin's wedding this week.  She requested an ivory cake with the hearts, snow, and snowflakes incorporated.  The top tier is a very small 4-inch round cake for the couple to save for their first anniversary.  The tier below that is my first attempt at an eggless cake, as one of my cousins has an allergy to eggs (as well as almonds - so no almond extract in the frosting either).  It is a vanilla cake filled with vanilla buttercream.  Below that tier is a chocolate cake tier with chocolate cream filling, then the bottom tier is a vanilla cake with vanilla cream filling.  The whole cake is frosted and decorated with vanilla buttercream.  The red hearts are made from Wilton Candy Melts.  The wedding was so lovely and it is always great to see family.  Congratulations to my cousin Layna and her new husband, Jeff!!!

Romantic Blue Cake with White Chocolate Roses

Another cake order for my best customer!  This one was for her mother's birthday.  She said to do whatever I wanted and to make it really pretty.  Fun for me!  This is vanilla cake with raspberry filling and vanilla buttercream.  The roses are my first attempt at working with rolled chocolate (white chocolate in this case).  It worked out pretty well - I've made enough flowers out of play-doh in my life to have a little bit of an idea of what to do.  Although the flowers are chocolate, I don't know if it's something that anyone would really want to take a big bite of...  What do you think?

I am very pleased with how this cake turned out!  The dinosaur themed party (picture below) is for a 6 year old's birthday this weekend.  The small cake is my Neapolitan combination (strawberry cake, vanilla cream filling, and chocolate buttercream frosting), along with one dozen strawberry cupcakes frosted with chocolate buttercream and topped with chocolate rocks, as well as two dozen chocolate cupcakes frosted with vanilla-almond buttercream.

3-tier Sports Birthday Cake

Three family members with November birthdays means a 3-tier cake for one big party!  The customer asked for a sports themed two tier cake to celebrate her son's 3rd, one of her daughter's 12th, and her husband's 35th birthdays.  I thought a three tier cake would be even more fun, so I surprised her.  All three tiers are mocha cake with chocolate cream filling and vanilla-almond buttercream frosting.  Happy Birthday Grayson, Darian, and Joel!!!

Police Shield Birthday Cake

This cake is for the Police Chief as he celebrates his birthday tomorrow.  The design of this shield is unique to the city of McCleary (picture below).  I included his radio ID number in my design.  This is a mocha cake with chocolate filling and vanilla-almond buttercream frosting.

Pink and Green Baby Shower Cake (#2)

I had a request for a pink and green baby shower cake similar to one I did a few months ago.  I was happy to do another one, but of course I had to make it unique and not quite the same. :o)  This is a vanilla cake with raspberry filling and vanilla-almond buttercream.

Train Cakes

A large order for a special party!  The customer purchased the toppers shown in the mini cupcakes above to do a Thomas-ish train party for her little guy turning 3.  She ordered a Baby Birthday Package along with a dozen mini cupcake favors.  I used the toppers she had to match papers for the banner, which I made.  The large 2-tier cake is Chocolate S'Mores on the lower tier, and Pineapple Coconut on the top tier.  The baby cake is pineapple cake with raspberry filling, and the party favors are chocolate chip mini cupcakes. Everything, of course, frosted with vanilla buttercream.  Thank you, Angie, for such a fun order.  Hope Ty enjoyed his big birthday celebration at the train depot!!

Sugar & Spice Baby Shower Cake

My wonderful friend Victoria is expecting a baby girl this December!  We had a shower for her at my house this weekend with a Sugar & Spice theme.  I made all the paper circle decorations with my Cricut, as well as the banner.  The cake was pretty simple since we had a lot of other sweets on the menu.   It was an apple spice cake with cream cheese filling and vanilla buttercream (same as the cake in my last post).  The shower was so much fun and I can't wait to meet little Brooklyn this December!  :o)

Sunflower Spice Cake

This cake was a donation for The Big Brothers & Big Sisters organization.  They were holding an auction and doing an event called the Cake Dash at Great Wolf Lodge.  I hope it helped raise a little money!  The theme for the evening's events was A Night in Tuscany, so I used warm colors and piped on sunflowers.  It is an Apple Spice Cake with cream cheese filling and vanilla buttercream frosting.

Witch Hat Halloween Cake

Happy Halloween to all!  This was such an exciting cake to do.  The whole thing is chocolate cake with chocolate cream filling, the bottom tier frosted with vanilla buttercream, the witch hat is frosted with chocolate buttercream.  Everything is edible - the pumpkins are candies purchased from the store, and the very top of the hat is shaped with a sugar cone.  This is actually a birthday cake for a friend with a Halloween birthday.  Hope you enjoy your cake, Jolene!  Happy birthday and I would love to see pictures!

Halloween Cupcakes

Pictured here are vanilla-rum cupcakes with vanilla buttercream.  I also decorated the display stand to go with this order.  Have a Happy Halloween!!

Western Pink and Brown Cake

This was such a fun cake to do because it was for a surprise birthday party for my cousin's 18th birthday.  She is into horses so I decided to do sort of a cowgirl looking cake.  The bottom tier was orange cake with chocolate cream filling and chocolate buttercream frosting.  The top tier was dark chocolate cake with coconut cream filling and vanilla buttercream frosting.  I also made the banner and the cake topper.  Happy Birthday, Sarah!!  It was a fun party!

White and Navy Blue Baptism Cake

A quick and simple short 2-tier cake for my Godson's Baptism.  The bottom tier was butter pecan cake with apple cream cheese filling (YUM!!!) and the top tier was simply chocolate cake - all frosted with vanilla buttercream.

Aloha Cake!

I failed to get pictures of this cake before I sent it off - luckily it was another cake for my best customer, Anne!  She sent me a ton of pictures to choose from for my post.  Thank you, Anne!

This cake was to say hello to a co-worker returning from Hawaii, and goodbye to another co-worker who is leaving.  What is more fitting than an ALOHA theme?!  :o)  I also sent a few white chocolate seashells along with the cake, so they could scatter them or just have them as an extra treat.

This is a pineapple cake with coconut cream filling. It was delicious!!  Frosted with vanilla buttercream and topped with a fresh pineapple crown.
