Witch Hat Halloween Cake

Happy Halloween to all!  This was such an exciting cake to do.  The whole thing is chocolate cake with chocolate cream filling, the bottom tier frosted with vanilla buttercream, the witch hat is frosted with chocolate buttercream.  Everything is edible - the pumpkins are candies purchased from the store, and the very top of the hat is shaped with a sugar cone.  This is actually a birthday cake for a friend with a Halloween birthday.  Hope you enjoy your cake, Jolene!  Happy birthday and I would love to see pictures!

Pictured here are vanilla-rum cupcakes with vanilla buttercream.  I also decorated the display stand to go with this order.  Have a Happy Halloween!!

Western Pink and Brown Cake

This was such a fun cake to do because it was for a surprise birthday party for my cousin's 18th birthday.  She is into horses so I decided to do sort of a cowgirl looking cake.  The bottom tier was orange cake with chocolate cream filling and chocolate buttercream frosting.  The top tier was dark chocolate cake with coconut cream filling and vanilla buttercream frosting.  I also made the banner and the cake topper.  Happy Birthday, Sarah!!  It was a fun party!

White and Navy Blue Baptism Cake

A quick and simple short 2-tier cake for my Godson's Baptism.  The bottom tier was butter pecan cake with apple cream cheese filling (YUM!!!) and the top tier was simply chocolate cake - all frosted with vanilla buttercream.

Aloha Cake!

I failed to get pictures of this cake before I sent it off - luckily it was another cake for my best customer, Anne!  She sent me a ton of pictures to choose from for my post.  Thank you, Anne!

This cake was to say hello to a co-worker returning from Hawaii, and goodbye to another co-worker who is leaving.  What is more fitting than an ALOHA theme?!  :o)  I also sent a few white chocolate seashells along with the cake, so they could scatter them or just have them as an extra treat.

This is a pineapple cake with coconut cream filling. It was delicious!!  Frosted with vanilla buttercream and topped with a fresh pineapple crown.

Picasso Painting Party Cake

How fun does a Pint-Sized Picasso party sound to a four year old?!  This two tier cake is dark chocolate with vanilla cream filling and vanilla buttercream.  The top tier is carved in the shape of a painter's palette.  I also created the paintbrush topper and banner to match.  Here was the invitation that the customer sent me for the color scheme.
Thanks for your order, Amanda!  I hope Aven loves her special cake!

Soccer Cupcakes

These cupcakes will help celebrate the end of a fun soccer season.  Dark chocolate cupcakes with vanilla buttercream.  Simple and yummy!

Cornelli Lace 3-Tier Wedding Cake with a "Brooch"

This 3-tier wedding cake was inspired by the bride's dress.  She had a gorgeous cornelli lace gown with a satin sash around her waist with a silver brooch in the center.  The back of the sash was tied in a bow.  I also have a satin ribbon around the middle tier of this cake, but it matched the frosting so well, it didn't stand out in the photo very well.  There is also a bow in the back of the cake with the ends trailing down the bottom tier.  My sister-in-law was the wedding photographer, so I will definitely post her much, much better pictures once she shares them with me.  :o)

The bottom tier is chocolate-vanilla marble cake with vanilla cream filling, the middle tier is vanilla cake with coconut cream filling, and the top tier was the groom's favorite - dark chocolate cake with raspberry filling.  All was frosted with vanilla buttercream frosting.  The "brooch" was also edible, made with silver frosting and sugar sparkles and white nonpareils.  The bride purchased the cute wooden bride and groom cake toppers from Etsy.

Congratulations, Jeff and Lauren!  I hope you had time to enjoy a piece of cake!! :o)  Everything looked beautiful!

Autumn Leaves Cake

This was a cake for an auction to benefit Evergreen Christian school.  It is spice cake with apple cream cheese filling and vanilla buttercream frosting.  I didn't know about a theme for the auction, so I decided to just make it taste and look like autumn!  I had also included a gift certificate with my donation, so I am looking forward to hearing from the winner.

Orange and Blue Striped Birthday Cake

Every year Dylan requests that I do brownies for his party instead of cake.  But this year he actually wanted a cake!  I made a two tier orange creamsicle cake decorated with orange and blue.  (This family loves the Denver Broncos!)  I also made the banner and the the invitations for his party.  Happy Birthday, Dylan!

Bird on a Branch Baby Shower Cake

This two tier baby shower cake was made to match the invitation shown alongside it.  I wanted to showcase the bird image, but keep the design simple.  I also made the banner to match.  The party hostess sent me the same paper she used for the invitations so that I could use it for the banner.  The bottom tier of the cake is dark chocolate filled with hazelnut cream, the top tier is orange creamsicle cake with vanilla cream filling, all is frosted with vanilla buttercream.  The brown frosting details are chocolate buttercream.

Sailor Hat Cake and Baby Shower

Besides the cake, I also made the little banner and designed the invitations shown here.
This baby shower was for my sister-in-law who expecting her second child, a baby boy.  Daddy was in the navy and the nursery will have the stripe pattern shown on the invitation.  So to incorporate both those things I wanted to just have a few nautical/sailor touches for the party.  The sailor hat cake was a small and simple vanilla cake frosted with vanilla buttercream.  To create the edge of the hat rim I used a frosting sheet with the edge folded over and wrapped it around the perimeter of the cake.  The cupcakes were lemon cake with vanilla frosting, simply topped with a wintergreen Lifesaver.
