Pearls and Lace Wedding Cake

This was an exciting cake to do because the inspiration cake from this website was so beautiful! The pearls are piped on with frosting, but the ribbon, lace, and flowers are real (not edible). The roses had a special significance to bride, so I was so excited to find the right size and color of lace with roses incorporated in the design.

It is a vanilla cake with raspberry filling, all frosted with (very pale green) vanilla buttercream. The bottom tier is a 10 inch round, with 3 layers of cake. The top tier is an 8 inch round, also with 3 layers of cake.

I delivered this cake and forgot my camera, so a big THANK YOU to Betsy at Studio B Photography for sharing her professional and beautiful pictures. Thank you, Marta, for the order - and congratulations!!

Buttercream Roses on Mini Chocolate Cupcakes

I had some practice roses left from last week's wedding/anniversary cake, and a few mini cupcakes left from something else. Just a cute little mini dessert. My kids loved them! :o)

What to do with extra cake?...

Facebook it and ask for a last minute cake request! This is 3 layers of cake, the bottom and top vanilla and middle lemon. All filled and frosted with chocolate buttercream. Decorated with dark chocolate buttercream. I forgot to take pictures - so thank you Victoria for taking a picture at the party. It looks a little glossy because it was so hot out and the frosting was getting a little soft!

S'Mores Cupcakes and a 13 Cake

This order was for a 13 year old's camp-out birthday party. What would be more fitting than S'mores cupcakes!? Yummy, yummy. The dark chocolate cupcakes were topped with marshmallow cream and mini marshmallows, then toasted and crowned with a Hershey's milk chocolate rectangle and a graham cracker. The carved number 13 cake was also dark chocolate, but simply frosted with vanilla buttercream. There were also a dozen mini chocolate cupcakes topped with the marshmallows and toasted.

Wedding Cake Replica Request

This cake (vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream) was a special request for a special event. The couple pictured above are now celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. Their daughter wanted to surprise them with a miniature version of their original wedding cake. As you can see, the original cake had a little bit of everything on it! Pillars, swans, roses, swirls, scallops, a butterfly, bells, tulle, you name it! Their daughter thought that the flowers and leaves were colored. I think some of them were gold or silver foil, even! So based solely on the photo above, this is what I created. I also did the topper. I found the swans on E-bay and the butterfly was actually from my wedding stuff.

Here's a picture of my cake in black and white, for fun. :o)

Baby Feet Baby Shower Cupcakes

Two dozen vanilla cupcakes and two dozen chocolate cupcakes (not pictured) frosted with vanilla buttercream, adorned with a chocolate disc. The baby feet were piped on with the buttercream frosting. The customer ordered two cupcake stands to hold all the cupcakes. I decorated them to match the blue and brown color scheme, with just a tiny bit of yellow.

Beach Themed Wedding Cake

The request: A beach themed wedding cake, but also incorporating burgundy and silver. The groom had a fairly detailed drawing for me to use as my guide. He had drawn a pretty elaborate cake with ropes on each layer and a seashell border. I suggested the seashells made of white chocolate and burgundy candy melts. He also wanted a large, edible, castle topper complete with a princess bride awaiting her groom (not edible). Pretty tall order for my FIRST wedding cake! I am very pleased with how it turned out and I believe the bride and groom were, as well. Congratulations, Larry and Debi. Hope you enjoyed your day! Thank you so much for your business.

The topper is crafted of a combination of cake, brown sugar buttercream, and ice cream cones. The princess is a Disney Belle doll (the bride has brunette hair), whose dress I painted white.

All the cake was vanilla and each tier filled with vanilla mousse, all frosted with vanilla buttercream. The white seashells were white chocolate and the burgundy seashells were made of Wilton vanilla flavored candy melts. This cake should have served about 90 people.

Cars, Trucks, and Trains Pull-Apart Cake

The customer will be adding a car or two, a train, and maybe a little boat to this cute pull-apart cake. A pull-apart cake is simply cupcakes all frosted together. Three dozen in this one - some party chip and some dark chocolate. The frosting is part vanilla buttercream and part chocolate buttercream. The rocks are actually chocolates and very yummy!

Happy 2nd Birthday, Cohen. Hopefully you enjoy these cupcakes. ;o)

The bottom tier was yellow cake filled with chocolate mousse, the middle and top tiers were chocolate filled with chocolate mousse. All was frosted with vanilla buttercream.

Here are some close up shots of the details.

Thank you, Kimberly, for hosting such a lovely party

and HAPPY, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MaryBeth!

Barnyard Cake with Chickens!

I LOVE how this cake turned out! Definitely one of my favorites that I've done. The request was for a barnyard cake with chickens. The birthday boy (turning 2) is in love with the chickens they have at home, so we definitely wanted some on the cake. The bottom tier of the cake is classic yellow filled with vanilla mousse and the top tier is vanilla filled with vanilla mousse - all frosted with vanilla buttercream. Happy Birthday, Easton!!
