Alice in Wonderland Cake for Piper

This cake was sooo fun to do!! And it gave me a valid excuse to sit and watch Alice in Wonderland (the original Disney version, of course) with the kids. I can't decide what looks best for cake pictures, flash on or off, so I posted one of each.

The cake platform is decorated with paper cutouts from my Cricut machine, the bottom tier of the cake (the Cheshire Cat) is chocolate filled with vanilla mousse, and the top tier (Mad Hatter's Hat) is rainbow chip filled with vanilla mousse. The teacup is plastic, but is stuffed with cake and frosted, topped with two marshmallow slices for the White Rabbit's ears. The whole cake is frosted with vanilla buttercream. The white details were cut from an edible Wilton Sugar Sheet (teeth, tag in hat, clock face, and doily on top).

I like the bottom one better. It shows the green darker. The top is too light. It shows the flows. A cute little cake. Nice job. :)

I agree with Michelle....the colors all stand out better without the flash on. Very cute cake!

The top one has the flash on, and is slightly more washed out, but the green is a little truer to the top picture. And, yes, Michelle - you're right. The bottom picture, with no flash in portrait mode, is slightly darker but a softer picture that hides the tiny flaws... Thanks for the comments, ladies! ;o)
