30th Class Reunion Cake for Olympia High School

Class motto for Oly High Class of 1982 was True Blue '82.  They are having their 30th class reunion festivities this weekend, and I was asked to make a fun cake for tonight.  Both tiers are vanilla and chocolate marble cake with chocolate cream filling.

Fireworks Cake

This is a vanilla cake with 3 layers of cake on the inside. The bottom is a red layer, then some raspberry jam filling, then a blue layer of cake.  After that is my vanilla cream filling, and finally topped with another layer of red cake.  Happy Independence Day to all!

Black Hills High School Graduation Cake

This is a brownie cake decorated with the Black Hills High School wolf logo.  Congratulations, Kalvin!

Olympia High School Graduation Cake

This is actually a brownie-cake - decorated for an Oly grad.  Congratulations, Payton!

Basketball Cake

Customer request for a chocolate cake with vanilla cream filling for a 30th birthday party for a guy who "kind of likes basketball."  Not a lot of  input or inspiration for this one, and I didn't want to do an orange basketball cake - that just seemed a little too young for a 30th birthday.  So I looked up the birthday boy on facebook and could only see one picture - tickets for March Madness!  I guess he really likes basketball.  So I was inspired by the ticket's logo for the cake design and excited to get to decorating.  Here was the picture.

Romantic Toile Inspired Cake

This cake request was for a romantic-girly cake for a baby shower - inspired by the invitation shown above.  The bottom tier is chocolate cake with raspberry-marshmallow swirl filling.  The top tier is pink lemonade cake with vanilla cream filling.  All frosted with my buttercream and adorned with fresh flowers.

3-Tier Teapot Birthday Cake

I was so excited to try making a teapot for this order.  As we all know, I don't use fondant in my creations. so I needed to figure out what I would do for the spout and handle.  In the end I decided to just use cardstock to create those parts of the teapot.  I think it turned out very cute.  The bottom tier and top tier of this cake were pink lemonade with vanilla cream filling, the middle tier was raspberry-kissed chocolate cake with chocolate cream filling.  I also made the birthday banner pictured.  This order was made to match the party supplies pictured below.  Thanks for another great request, Anne!  And Happy 4th Birthday, Saffron!

Tie-Dye Cake for Piper

A special little lady turned 5 this week and wanted a tie-dye cake for her party.  This was simply a vanilla cake with vanilla cream filling.  I also dyed the cake batter a few different colors and swirled them together a little bit, so when cut into the cake was just as colorful as the frosting.  All is frosted, of course, with buttercream. Happy Birthday, Piper Lynn!!

Tumwater High School Graduation Cake

My cousin graduated from Tumwater High School this week.  I was glad to make a beautiful cake for her celebration last weekend.  The bottom tier was pink lemonade cake with vanilla cream filling and the top tier was vanilla cake with chocolate cream filling.  I also made the coordinating topper for the cake.  Congratulations, Sarah!!  So proud of you!

Rochester High School Graduation Cake

Another RHS logo cake - this one for a great guy who graduated last weekend.  This was an orange-kissed chocolate cake with chocolate cream filling.  Congratulations, John!!
