Ivory Snowflake Wedding Cake

This 4-tier wedding cake was for my cousin's wedding this week.  She requested an ivory cake with the hearts, snow, and snowflakes incorporated.  The top tier is a very small 4-inch round cake for the couple to save for their first anniversary.  The tier below that is my first attempt at an eggless cake, as one of my cousins has an allergy to eggs (as well as almonds - so no almond extract in the frosting either).  It is a vanilla cake filled with vanilla buttercream.  Below that tier is a chocolate cake tier with chocolate cream filling, then the bottom tier is a vanilla cake with vanilla cream filling.  The whole cake is frosted and decorated with vanilla buttercream.  The red hearts are made from Wilton Candy Melts.  The wedding was so lovely and it is always great to see family.  Congratulations to my cousin Layna and her new husband, Jeff!!!

Romantic Blue Cake with White Chocolate Roses

Another cake order for my best customer!  This one was for her mother's birthday.  She said to do whatever I wanted and to make it really pretty.  Fun for me!  This is vanilla cake with raspberry filling and vanilla buttercream.  The roses are my first attempt at working with rolled chocolate (white chocolate in this case).  It worked out pretty well - I've made enough flowers out of play-doh in my life to have a little bit of an idea of what to do.  Although the flowers are chocolate, I don't know if it's something that anyone would really want to take a big bite of...  What do you think?

50th Birthday Cake

This cake is to celebrate a 50th birthday!  It is strawberry cake, chocolate cream filling, and vanilla buttercream frosting (Neapolitan combo).  I made this cake to coordinate with the napkin shown below (this theme is available at Party City), and the candles pictured below that.

Dinosaur Cake and Cupcakes

I am very pleased with how this cake turned out!  The dinosaur themed party (picture below) is for a 6 year old's birthday this weekend.  The small cake is my Neapolitan combination (strawberry cake, vanilla cream filling, and chocolate buttercream frosting), along with one dozen strawberry cupcakes frosted with chocolate buttercream and topped with chocolate rocks, as well as two dozen chocolate cupcakes frosted with vanilla-almond buttercream.
